I'm so so hungry

Suzanne Collins wrote three spectacular books that they have made into films.  I'm sure, if you have even been half-paying attention, you've noticed.

The Hunger Games is about to come out...and I'm in  a dither like a hormone-infused tween.

HOW MUCH LONGER????

Love,
Katie

p.s. I love you Cinna

  1. Should I read them first? You know I have issues with non-fiction.

  2. As my tween explained - this series is like Twilight without "stupid blood suckers". As she explained the story and I was all *crickets*....guess I am just old-fashioned and go for those classic utopian societal novels like Lord of the Flies and 1984. Or am I just old.

    1. SG-

You are simply fabulous, not old. I limped my way through Twilight, as I'm full on a True Blood whore. The Hunger games series mixes a really groovy blend of sci-fi with an organic and believable feel to me. If you like things like Vanilla Sky or Mission Impossible, this story line may appeal to you. Of course, there are a lot teenagers involved...but it's quite violent and delightful. (did you just glaze over again? fuck it, let's have wine)

  3. Uh oh. You told me about these books so long ago and now I'm meant to read them for book club. However, I don't like teen books or sci fi so how much am I going to hate them?

  4. I can't even talk about how much I love these books!! I read book 1 in a day and could barely contain myself until I could get 2 & 3! Hannah finished book 2 in the car on the way to CO, gasped, and immediately grabbed book 3!! Hilarious!! I can't wait for the movie(s) and I don't think they could have cast Cinna or Haymitch better!!

To the other Dums, I beg you to start reading them ASAP - if you aren't hooked within short order, then they may not be your cup of tea, but just in case, you may want to pre-make some meals for the family before you start, because they may not see you for a while... ;-)
